Want organized kids but aren't sure where to start?
Trust me, you are not alone. Trying to incorporate organizing habits for kids can seem impossible, especially if your kids are older. Or you feel like you've "missed the boat" on ever teaching them these habits.
But I am here today with my 3 basic steps to help kids of any age (I'm looking at you 40 year olds 😉) start developing skills to organize and maintain a space.
3 TIPS OVERVIEW
- Keep it Simple
You want them to participate in the process so keep it easy so they can feel confident in helping. Or even do it on their own when I’m not around.
Keep the tasks short also…maybe rather than cleaning up a whole room, pick an area or section or one part of the task to complete.
Remember the less stuff you have on hand, they less stuff you have to deal with. Or that could potentially get dumped on the floor.
- Be Consistent
Kid’s brains love routine and schedule so it is super important for you to be consistent with tasks you want to become habitual.
- Cue Them
Cuing can help make the transitions for kids from one activity to another smoother. And help cut down on the time it takes to make that transition.

And now for this week's cocktail recipe...
- 2 oz light rum
- 2 oz dark rum
- 2 oz passion fruit juice
- 1 oz orange juice
- juice of a half a lime
- 1 Tbsp simple syrup
- 1 Tbsp grenadine
- orange slice and cherry for garnish
Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice. Pour the remaining ingredients into the cocktail shaker. Shake well. Strain into a hurricane glass. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.
