Responsible Decluttering and Mojitos

I want to make decluttering as easy as possible for you.

That is why today I have resources for responsibly decluttering your possessions as well as a tasty Mojito recipe made with eco-conscious Don Q Rum.

Many times when I am working with clients that I see them struggle with getting rid of things. Sometimes it is emotional or sentimental items. But many times it is because they feel like the item still has life or they don’t want to be wasteful.

That is why I pulled together a list of some of my favorite resources to help you declutter items in a responsible way. From batteries and light bulbs to clothing and plastics, you are bound to find a resource to help you feel better about letting go.

Here are links to the recycling services I discuss in the podcast:

  1. Terracycle – plastics, hard to recycle items
  2. Gimme 5 – #5 plastics
  3. Batteries Plus Bulbs – lightbulbs and batteries
  4. H & M – clothing and textiles
  5. DEA Drug Take Back Day – expired prescription drugs and unwanted medications

And if all this talk of recycling has made you thirsty, you are in luck because here is that yummy Mojito recipe I promised:

Don’t forget to join up in the Cocktails and Containers Facebook group. It is a great community for questions you are having about organizing your family. And I regularly have LIVE chats so you can ask me your questions directly.

And be sure to comment below and let me know if there are any other items you are struggling to part with and could use a good resource for. If you have a question, chances are someone else does too. Maybe we can have “Responsible Decluttering Part Two”. Until then, take care and happy organizing.
